Type 2 diabetes continues to be a public health concern in the U.S. and globally. Research has demonstrated a benefit of whey protein in improving glycemic control, primarily in acute postprandial settings. Additional research is needed to determine whether these acute benefits have an impact in the long-term as well as to further identify the underlying mechanisms. National Dairy Council is seeking pre-proposals that examine the impact of whey protein supplementation on glycemic control in people at risk for Type 2 Diabetes and/or those with T2D.
